The Founding Fathers created three branches government after we declared our independence from England. They wanted to create a government that was balanced and didn’t give too much power to the states or central government, unlike the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation failed because they gave too much power to the states. The three branches of the government are Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. The Legislative Branch creates laws, the Executive Branch carries out laws, and the Judicial Branch enforces the laws. The three branches keep each other in check and make sure none of the three get too powerful.
